Look Ahead (and Plan Ahead) to Our 2022 Holiday Season

Yes, it’s 90+ degrees this week.

No, it’s not too early to start thinking about the holidays.

We always go big for the holidays, and this year is no exception. Here’s a little taste of what you can expect for the 2022 holiday season at French Lick Resort – check back at frenchlick.com in the coming weeks for more info.

Tree Lighting Ceremonies & Christmas Season

Tree lighting. It might just be the most wonderful day of the year at the resort. And there’s two chances to experience this holiday magic.

West Baden Springs Hotel’s tree lighting is Saturday, November 12 and is exclusive to guests with Saturday overnight reservations at West Baden. The French Lick Springs Hotel tree lighting is on the following Saturday, November 19, and is open to all resort guests as well as the public.

Both hotels fill up well in advance for the occasion, so you’ll want to make reservations soon to witness all the festivities: the lighting of the 40+ foot tall trees, the treats, activities, music, and all the other little surprises that get you in the spirit.

Throughout the rest of the holidays, the little ones can get a picture with Santa on Fridays and Saturdays (5:30-7:30 p.m.; bring a phone or camera to snap your photo), write a letter to St. Nick with a reply sent home, make a stuffed buddy at Santa’s toymaker workshop, and have breakfast with Rudolph at The Grand Colonnade Restaurant. There’s also story time and cookie decorating with Mrs. Claus. And if you’ve got kids with that pent-up Christmas energy, they can burn some of it at the Winter Break Bounce Bash (daily from Dec. 19-30) with bounce houses, games and more.

We’re also excited to have the Dickens Carolers back this year! Catch them on the three Saturdays leading up to Christmas (the 10th, 17th and 24th) from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the West Baden atrium.

Even just admiring all the dazzling holiday decorations and decorations could be a trip unto itself. From the holiday village and famous gingerbread house on the upper level of the Event Center, to the dozen Christmas trees and half-million holiday lights resort-wide, this winter wonderland is a sight to behold.

Thanksgiving

If you’re in the market for a destination Thanksgiving, there’s nothing like a holiday weekend (with no cooking *and* no dishes) at French Lick and West Baden.

The Thanksgiving buffet at West Baden Springs Hotel is already sold out, but you can still make reservations for French Lick Springs Hotel’s Turkey Day buffet. (Get a load of these mouth-watering menus and you’ll see why our Thanksgiving buffets sell out in advance.) West Baden still has regular room reservations available, so you can stay there and hit the Thanksgiving buffet at French Lick — it’s a great way to experience both hotels.

There’s more to enjoy, too: Tom the Turkey Run to get your appetite worked up, and Bounce Bash for the kids featuring bounce houses and video games all weekend.

New Year’s Eve

When’s the last time you really celebrated New Year’s Eve in style?

Whether it’s a date night for two or more of a party with the whole crew, both of French Lick Resort’s Rio-themed New Year’s celebrations are a spectacle not to be missed. Ditch the PJ’s for the formalwear, and treat yourself to a rock-star New Year’s for once. (Even bring the kids for a party of their own, as we have supervised games and entertainment for ages 6-17.)

At French Lick Springs Hotel, ring in 2022 with a Brazilian-inspired menu, live entertainment and a Champagne toast at midnight. West Baden Springs Hotel’s gala under the iconic dome includes live music and dancing, and a mini dessert buffet before the traditional midnight Champagne toast ushers in the new year.

Just for your planning-ahead purposes: the New Year’s celebration at West Baden Springs Hotel is built into the room rate for that night – room-only options are not available for December 31. At French Lick Springs Hotel, you can choose the New Year’s package or regular reservations for the night of December 31.

Oh, and One More Thing…

Our holiday trees and decorations will be up until January 9. We like to make the holiday magic last as long as possible around here, so stop by and enjoy the sights.
