Here's the Scoop on our 2021 Holiday Season

Only 32 days until our 50 Days of Lights kick off here at French Lick Resort. (Not that we’re counting or anything.)

If you’ve been here before during the holidays, you know that it’s an experience like none other. And if you haven’t, it’s time to put it front and center of your 2021 wish list. Here’s the scoop about what you can expect this season:

Tree Lighting Ceremonies & Community Open House

If there’s one day all year that’s a gotta-see type of day at the resort, it’s the tree lighting ceremony. And this year, you’ve got two chances to catch it.

Tree lightings at our hotels are on separate weekends — Saturday, November 13 at French Lick Springs Hotel, and Saturday, November 20 at West Baden Springs Hotel. Both tree lightings will be for overnight hotel guests only. (And this is a good time for a reminder that even outside the holidays, the resort remains a closed campus for overnight hotel and casino guests only.)

Both hotels are nearly full for those weekends, so you’ll want to make reservations soon to witness all the holiday festivities of the day: the lighting of the 40+ foot tall trees, the lights, decorations, treats, activities, music, and all the other little surprises that get you in the spirit.

It's the most wonderful time of the year, and we want our local community to join in the festivities, too. All are welcome to our  Holiday Community Open House from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday, November 22 at West Baden Springs Hotel, including our 45-foot tree decked at its holiday best and live holiday music. The kids can catch a glimpse of Santa as he makes a quick stop by West Baden, and even drop off a letter to St. Nick and get a reply sent back to your house in time for Christmas.

Thanksgiving

If you’re in the market for a destination Thanksgiving, you’re in luck. We’ve got plenty to feast on.

Both our historic hotels are planning grand Thanksgiving buffets for Turkey Day. (Get a load of the impressive spreads here for French Lick and West Baden.) If you’re coming with a sizable crew, you can even rent a private dining room (for groups of 12+) and have the privacy and comfort of home to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner.

Some of our other resort dining venues will be offering a la carte Thanksgiving specials in addition to their other menu offerings. So at 1875: The Steakhouse, you could order the 10 oz. Grande Filet Mignon with a slice of double layer pumpkin pie for dessert. (Hey, it’s Thanksgiving, so you do you.)

There’s more to enjoy, too: Tom the Turkey Run to get your appetite worked up, and Bounce Bash for the kids. And don’t forget Family Photography Weekend, which is an ideal opportunity to get that professional family photo for the Christmas cards.

More During the Holiday Season

There’s even more to get you in the spirit throughout our 50 Days of Lights:
• See all the dazzling holiday decorations resort-wide: more than a dozen Christmas trees, our special Holiday Village and famous gingerbread house on the upper level of the Event Center, and a half-million holiday lights resort-wide. Our winter wonderland is a sight to behold.

• If you’re here for Christmas itself, the Christmas dinner at Sinclair’s Restaurant and live musical entertainment is a holiday treat worth cherishing. We’ve got chestnuts roasting on the open fire for our chestnut bisque, a choice of three tempting entrées, and a special peppermint twist on our trademark Chocolate Dome to top it all off.

• Holiday musical entertainment at West Baden Springs Hotel, including live music nightly in the atrium (excluding December 9-11), performances from Sacred Calling (December 4 & 18) and Dickens Carolers (December 25). Afternoon Tea in the Atrium will also include the sounds of the season on Sundays in December.

New Year’s Eve
Miss out on celebrating New Year’s Eve in 2020? We’ve got you covered when it’s time to ring in 2022.

We’re going “Around the World” for our themed New Year’s celebrations at both French Lick and West Baden Springs Hotels. Either one you choose, it’s a formal night out featuring dinner, live entertainment, and midnight Champagne toast to ring in the new year. While you grown-ups have your fun, you can leave the kids (age 6-17) at our Slumber Soirée for supervised fun. Everyone has a little party of their own to enjoy.
