More Dining Re-openings, and 10 Things To Do for the 4th

Every day, it’s starting to look more and more like summer around here.

Guests are trickling back in to our hotels, casino and golf courses. After a quiet few months around here, we absolutely love seeing people back. And we have more to share about things happening around the resort, just in time for the upcoming holiday.

Here’s a little more about dining venues that are reopening, as well as what’s happening for the Fourth of July weekend.

DINING

Good news to share: Four more of our resort restaurants are reopening this week!

At French Lick Springs Hotel, 1875: The Steakhouse, Power Plant Bar & Grill, and Pluto’s Pizzeria will all open on July 1. Another favorite is coming back at French Lick Springs Hotel: the lobby bar, serving your favorite drinks from 5pm-10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

Also, Café Sinclair’s at West Baden Springs Hotel is reopening for daily breakfast starting July 1. And at Hagen’s Club House Restaurant, daily lunch service will begin on July 3.

Check out more about hours and availability of all resort dining venues, which are open to our gaming and overnight resort guests.

FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND

Visiting our hotels for the Fourth? Here’s 10 things for gaming and overnight resort guests to do for the holiday weekend:

Patriotic tunes: Be sure to catch one of the seven performances by Ladies of Liberty with their catchy performances celebrating Americana. (On the French Lick Springs Hotel mezzanine, Friday at 7 p.m.; Saturday at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.; and Sunday at 9 a.m.)

Another French Lick Springs Hotel favorite is back with a new name and new location. You’ve seen them on the veranda before, and next weekend the Ragtime Rascals will be taking their show to the front lawn with your favorite ragtime tunes. (6 p.m.-10p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday)

Fun and games: Perfect for the kids, and the kids at heart (and for social distancing outdoors). Play badminton, cornhole, Kan Jam and more yard games at the KidsFest Lawn. (Complimentary, and available noon-10 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.)

Party at the pool: West Baden Springs Hotel is grillin’ up a cookout with a DJ on both Saturday and Sunday. (Noon-4 p.m. both days)

We’ll have the party going at French Lick Springs Hotel also, with a DJ and games for the kids at the outdoor pool. (Friday from 4 p.m.-9 p.m. with games until 8 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday with games starting at 1 p.m.)

Savor those simple pleasures: A cocktail, live jazz music and conversation with good friends under the dome at West Baden Springs Hotel. A lazy evening in the wooden rockers on the French Lick Springs Hotel veranda (with an ice cream cone, of course). The best ways to truly enjoy summer don’t require any planning. (Live jazz 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at West Baden Springs Hotel)

Lighting up at night: We’ve had to postpone our fireworks show this year, but starting at dusk, the kids can still hit Dive-In Movies at the French Lick Springs Hotel pool. And keep an eye out for the special patriotic projections on the French Lick Springs Hotel façade after dark. (Movie schedule: “Despicable Me 3” on Friday; “Sherlock Gnomes” on Saturday; “The Wild” on Sunday)

Celebrate with a bang: This is the first time our 73-acre sporting clays range is open to leisure guests. This is perfect for both experienced and novel marksmen, as you can simulate the thrill of a hunt and take aim on clay targets. Call (812) 788-2575 or email dmadden@frenchlick.com for more on availability.

Explore the trails: Bring your mountain bike or your trail shoes, and bike or hike our 11+ miles of trails. Find trail maps at the Valley Links golf shop.

Play a round of FootGolf: Finding a family activity that everyone likes can do together. It’s the age-old vacation conundrum. FootGolf is the answer.

Literally anyone can play — whether you’re age 8 or 80. You play the Valley Links Course with the traditional golf rules and etiquette, but you use your feet and a soccer ball instead of golf clubs. Play 18 holes to make an afternoon of it, or do 9 holes for a quicker game.

Go for a ride: There’s nothing better than a relaxing bike ride to let you know you’ve truly gotten away. Pack up your bike rack and venture out to enjoy some of our 3,200 acres, or rent cruiser, tandem or surrey bikes here. (Bike rentals available at the French Lick Mercantile and West Baden Springs Hotel front desk)

Take a drive and cool off: Patoka Lake and Marengo Cave are both within a 40-minute drive of the resort. Take the boat out on Patoka or bring the fishing and beach gear. Or, escape the heat for a few hours inside Marengo Cave where it’s always 56 degrees, even in July.
