Different Ways You Can Do Spring Break at French Lick Resort

Happy National Plan for Vacation Day! We're celebrating with ideas and inspiration on how you can spend spring break at French Lick Resort.

There are over 100 things to do at French Lick Resort, and spring break is no exception. Looking for spring break inspiration? Whether you’re traveling with your family or having a girlfriends' getaway, here’s a how-to guide to all things spring break at French Lick Resort!

Itinerary for an Overnight Stay During Spring Break at French Lick Resort

Whether you’re staying at West Baden Springs Hotel or French Lick Springs Hotel (yes, you can visit both), the first thing to do during your visit is to get acquainted with the hotel and soak in the historic ambiance. Explore the lobby and atrium and enjoy live music seven days a week (starting at 5pm at West Baden Springs Hotel), pick up the spring break activity guide at the front desk and settle in.

We have transportation services 24/7, so after you park your car, there’s no need to drive during your stay! Or, hop on our restored rail trolley for a truly unforgettable 10-minute ride to either hotel and step back in time and soak in the sights of the resort and surrounding area.

Once you’ve settled in, it’s time to explore! Walk around the Promenade of Shoppes at French Lick Springs Hotel and visit Pluto’s Alley for bowling and pizza at Pluto’s Pizzeria (complete with an arcade)! For parents visiting kid-free, walk over to the French Lick Casino, which is connected to the French Lick Springs Hotel.

If you're traveling with the children, our KidsFest has all kinds of interactive events and activities planned. Their "Spring Into the Wild" spring break programming runs from March 8 through April 7 with safari-themed crafts, games and scavenger hunts all part of the daily itinerary of supervised activities. The “Born to be Wild” shows on Saturdays offer the chance to see exotic animals up close.

Alas check-out time is commencing, but the morning still presents plenty of time to enjoy walking around the gardens, visiting any shops you might have missed, and hopefully even an Indiana Landmarks Historic Tour.

Itinerary for Spring Break Weekend (or 2 day) Stay at French Lick Resort

Weekends during the spring break season (March-April) are the perfect time to take advantage of our Resort Credit Package and earn credits to use toward bowling, horseback riding, FootGolf or other activities for you to build your own spring break adventure.

If you’re with the family, take the quick 10-minute drive to Wilstem and interact with exotic creatures and experience a one-of-a-kind grizzly bear experience. Depending on what all you’d like to experience there, this could be anywhere from a 3-5 hour excursion.

Be sure to check out our newest attraction, Spring Into Action, with six electrifying shows this spring by Turners Circus performers! From trapeze to silks, catch an array of dazzling acts including interactive elements of hoop and poi for the kids. There’s also complimentary cotton candy and popcorn for the kids (and the kids at heart) plus a circus photo booth to capture your memories. These are on select Saturdays (March 30, April 20 and May 18), so be sure to plan accordingly.

There are also several tasty ways for the whole family to enjoy spring break together. Cookies & Canvas, Cupcake Decorating and Mommy & Me Tea are all extra-special ways to experience West Baden Springs Hotel throughout the spring break season.

Head to The Stables (nestled behind West Baden Springs Hotel) for horseback rides and pony rides for the kids. Experience the beauty and serenity of southern Indiana while riding through the resort’s 8 miles of picturesque trails bordering the Hoosier National Forest.

If you’re traveling with your girlfriends, reserve a relaxing massage, facial, mani/pedi or all of the above at our Spas, relax in the utmost sophistication at Afternoon Tea in the West Baden Springs Hotel atrium or indulge in a Wine & Dessert Soirée under the West Baden Springs Hotel dome and raise a glass to a trio of house-made desserts (reservations are required at both of these events). With live music seven days a week, there is always an evening of drinks and tunes under the dome (and perfect photo op)!
