Best Historic Resort in America

Sometimes you have a job and sometimes you are lucky enough to have a passion that also pays the bills. I put myself in the second category.
Like most French Lick Resort employees, I have profound respect for the Cook family and the amazing work they have done here. Eternal preservationists, the family stepped up

when the wrecking ball was lingering outside of the walls of the West Baden Springs Hotel.
By the time it was over, the family would commit over $500 million dollars to —not only save West Baden but also the French Lick Springs Hotel —as well as develop new amenities to bring guests to the area including the French Lick Casino and the Pete Dye Course at French Lick.

As one of the largest private historic restorations in the history of the United States it is often called the
"Save of the Century."

So you can see why we get downright giddy when prestigious organizations bestow the resort with national honors. Here's where the bragging comes in; Historic Hotels of America just named French Lick Resort "Best Historic Resort" during their 2013 Annual Awards Program.

It is, of course, always an honor just to be nominated but when member hotels, historic preservation supporters and HHA leadership single you out for amongst so many notable properties it is really humbling.
I am sure I speak for the entire staff when I say this one is for you, Mr. Cook!
