Clayton Anderson Band wins French Lick Resort's $10k Country Band Challenge

The Clayton Anderson Band (Bloomington, Ind.) is ten grand richer after beating out Seymour, Ind.’s Tator in the finals of French Lick Resort's 10k Country Band Challenge. Both bands gave it their all and entertained the crowd with show-stopping performances Saturday night in the resort’s Windsor Ballroom. Celebrity judges Randall Hamm (Q100 radio), Kelly G (WBKR radio) and Carrie Weil (WAVE3-TV) scored the bands in ten different categories including stage presence, musicianship, vocals, audience involvement, song selection, arrangements, diction, ensemble, originality and marketability. It was a tight competition with only 17 points separating The Clayton Anderson Band from runner-up Tator.

Saturday’s finals were the culmination of three weeks of great performances by bands representing Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. The 16 original participants included: Whitney Thetford (Indianapolis), Jessi Lee and Full Circle (Louisville, Ky), The Clayton Anderson Band (Bloomington, Ind.), Rural Route 3 (Indianapolis), Bigg Country (Martinsville, Ind.), Tator (Seymour, Ind.), Rusted River (Mitchell, Ind.), Kings Landing (Dayton, Ohio), Ryan Broshear Band (Cincinnati), Rick LeDune & Awesome Possum Project (Spencer, Ind.), Copperhead Creek (Otwell, Ind.), Jester Kings (Indianapolis), Double A Daddies (Delphi, Ind.), Michael D. Band (Indianapolis), Cuzco Road (French Lick, Ind.) and Janet Lynn Hattabaugh (Pekin, Ind.)
